Evanston Bricolage “Art Opens Our Horizons: Nature, Culture, and Diversity”

Location: Main Street Metra Station, Evanston
Artist: Sonata Kazimieraitiene
Sponsors: CPAG, Open Studio, and the City of Evanston Public Art Program

Over 200 community participants each created a small section or block from the city-mosaic element of the mural. Participants were taught to use different techniques and tools in order to create truly unique pieces. Later these pieces were used to create the map of Evanston. Photo-transfers of historic Evanston buildings and landmarks were also included. As a whole, the project represents the culture and diversity of the Evanston community.
