Information: Located in the “secret garden” courtyard of the Uptown Branch of the Chicago Public Library, this sculptured seat was designed as a place for librarians to read stories to children. Constructed out of cement tree-branch forms interwoven with cast concrete bean leaves, the fairy tale-like throne also incorporates silver quartz and Canadian mica. This work was created as part of the Blue Skies for Library Kids program.
